ScanPatch — fixing a scan when there is no source file.
A scanned document with a ruined photo, a wrong stamp, an obsolete figure — and no source file. ScanPatch cuts the bad region out, drops a replacement image in, and blends the seams so the page still reads as one scan. Untouched pages export bit-identical.
Why it exists
I needed to fix one region on one scanned document and every path led through a subscription PDF suite or a print-fix-rescan loop. So: a small native Mac app that does exactly this job, offline, and never modifies the original file — patches live above the scan until you export, and untouched pages are copied through bit-identical.
Built for the generator era
Replacements usually come out of an image generator now, so the cut tool snaps to exact generator aspect ratios — ChatGPT's 3:2, DALL·E's 7:4, Flux's 21:9 and friends — integer-exact, so your generated patch fits without white bars. Seam blending matches ring statistics, color cast and grain of the surrounding scan, and shows you a before/after picker when it's unsure.
